Research skills is therefore a fundamental tool for everyone. These skills provide the ability to the individual to better handle project, tasks, and assignments given to them by employers. Therefore, high professionalism is necessary for the individual to research, find and analyze results.
The course consists of one multiple choice quiz carrying a weight of 100% towards the final course grade. In order to successfully complete the course and obtain your certificate you need to achieve an overall grade of 50% or above at the quiz.
What will I learn?
Helping develop the skills needed to conduct research efficiently, this course covers the process of reviewing relevant literature, teaches the ethical issues and concerns prevalent in research, and highlights the principles to follow when conducting research. Methods of quantitative data collection, as well as the theoretical models and the different stages of qualitative data analysis are also explored.
Curriculum:
WEEK 1: Research Methods and Literature Review
This week covers the basics characteristics of Qualitative, Quantitative and Mixed methods research.
WEEK 2: Research Design, ethics and sampling in research
This week covers the research design, the ethical issues and concerns in research and examines sampling methods of qualitative and quantitative approaches.
WEEK 3: Qualitative research and data collection
This week covers the main methods of qualitative and quantitative data collection.
WEEK 4: Quantitative Data Analysis
This week covers the theoretical models of qualitative data analysis and presents an understanding of quantitative analysis.
WEEK 5: Final Quiz
