Microsoft Access is a database management system (DBMS) that offers a combination of graphical user interface (GUI) and application development tools. With Access, users can design tables, forms and create complex queries, without having any programming expertise. Whether you are a software developer or a data analyst, you can build software applications using Access as the backend database. Typically, Access applications are developed using Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) and other Microsoft applications.
This course focuses on the concept of a database, what a database is and how it is organized and operated. The student be able to create a simple database, view the database content in various modes, analyze the data and retrieve specific information from a database. Furthermore, knowledge on how to create and modify tables, forms, queries, and reports for data stored in Access will be gained.
The course consists of one multiple choice quiz carrying a weight of 100% towards the final course grade. In order to successfully complete the course and obtain your certificate you need to achieve an overall grade of 50% or above at the quiz.
