Project Management: Foundations for Success

This course provides students with an examination of project management techniques, tools and strategies. Through lectures and self-assessment exercises, students gain exposure to project management from inception to implementation to monitoring and evaluation. Topics include: project definition, lifecycles, planning, control and reporting.

Objectives

  • Learn key terminology used in project management
  • Identify interlinking and interrelation of project management processes
  • Gain knowledge of primary areas of expertise necessary to manage projects successfully
  • Recognize characteristics of project life cycles and phases, the significance of project stakeholders, and organizational influences
